jack turns 3: a birthday roundup

No one can stand to be around me while I'm party-prepping. And I can't blame them. I turn all scary lady. But it usually pays off! At least it did this time. Jack's birthday was off da chain, yo! Well..... perhaps I exaggerate. But it WAS really cute, and he said he was happy, which is what matters most in the world.

On Friday (his actual B-day) he and I had a sweet little birthday breakfast together. And then Saturday we got down to some serious party bidness. Cowboy style.
Barbecue sammies, 'tater salad, corn-on-the-cobb, ice cold dranks... and of course, what self-respecting cowboy could have a true birthday without his very own 4-layer Holstein-cow-printed rainbow-center cake?
(A special thanks to the hot chick pictured above! Colleen, if it weren't for you, I would STILL be kneading fondant whilst weeping silently in the late hours of the night. You da bomb, girl.)

It really was the greatest! Jack got so many awesome new toys and loved every minute of it. Thanks to everyone who came out and made the day so sweet.
Now, if someone could please point me in the direction of the closest hot bath and glass of wine.... Mama has a party of her own to attend.
A party of one, that is.
