in need of a little something...

My sweet boy has been down in the dumps for 4 days now... and it's taking it's toll on all of us. Is there anything worse than a feverish baby? The whimpering, the shaking, the look in their eyes that seems to plead, "Do something, Mama." It's too much to bear! But for now, he's peacefully sleeping next to me on the couch, and I have snuck away to do a little catching up on my blog stalking. I am in desperate need of a little beauty. A little inspiration. A little pick-me-up on this humpiest of hump days. how's about you? I desperately need a good book!!! Any recommendations???

What's the best book you've read in the last 6 months?

Actually, Nick picked me out a book that I didn't think I'd like: 'The Moonflower Vine' by Carleton (I forgot her first name). I think you would really like it. It's touted as a 'rediscovered classic', and I was sorry when it ended.

Aw, I hope your little boy feels better soon! I don't take enough time to read, though two of my favorites are Travels with Charlie (Steinbeck) and Blue Highways (william Least-Heat Moon). Although the travel-themed books give me a bit of the wanderlust, they also make great substitutes for a real vacation.

Thanks for following my blog! I love your recipes, and I'm definitely going to try to find that dill cottage cheese at my local green grocer or Publix ;)

oh no, i'm so sorry. i hope he starts feeling better right a way. as for books, that's a difficult one b/c i've had a hard time getting into anything. i last read a book by jen lancaster which was friggin hilarious so if you're in for a laugh, that's your way to go (any of them will do).

Hope your dear boy is feeling better by now... Please don't judge me, I love reading trashy novel by Jackie Collins...it's addictive! haha...

Enjoy your weekend, your blog is lovely*
